Area Traffic Management Plan for Central Silk Board Area

Electronics City Industries Association (ELCIA) commissioned BCCF to come up with solutions for the traffic log-jams at the approaches to the Central Silk Board (CSB) junction. 

Central Silk Board junction is situated at the junction of Hosur Road and Outer Ring Road (ORR). The two major travel corridors connect residential and employment centers in the eastern, south-eastern and southern parts of Bangalore to the rest of the city. 

Pre-feasibility study of Multi Modal Transportation Hub at BIAL

A large number of residential layouts and business parks are set to make the BIAL region a busy hub of activities. To service the mobility needs of this region requires an integration of multiple government and private development agency plans.

The need for such a Multi Modal Transportation Hub (MMTH) prompted the Infrastructure Development Department (IDD), to commission BCCF to conduct a pre-feasibility study.

The scope of the work:
1.  To identify the catchment area serviced by the multi modal mobility hub
2.   Estimate the size of the hub.


Catchment Area:

The passengers, airport employees and employees of the proposed centers Aerocity, Devanahalli Business Park, IT and Hardware park employment are within 5-6 KM from the identified hub location.

Central Silk Board flyover area is located at the junction of Outer  Ring Road and Hosur main rd.

  Issues
  - High traffic volumes
  - Long signal cycles, leading to long vehicle queues
  - High pedestrian volumes, with inadequate facilities
  - Insufficient bus stop facilities

   - Decongest the junction
   - Designing a bus interchange point for Big10 services
   - Improve pedestrian crossing facilities
